“In a revolutionary war, the people’s political superiority will be translated into a material force capable of turning the tables on the enemy.” — Vietnamese General Võ Nguên Giáp
October 7th, 2025 marks the second anniversary of the beginning of Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, a historical milestone in the Palestinian revolutionary political project. Al-Ahrar Toronto salutes the brave fighters of the Palestinian Resistance who broke open the Zionist prison gates two years ago.
Al-Aqsa Flood is a natural response to over 77 years of settler-colonial occupation, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. It is a battle that does not exist in isolation; it is a continuation of the many battles that Palestinians have engaged in over the last century in defense of their land and part and parcel of the broader anti-imperialist project that exists across the region.
With extremely limited means, courageous young Palestinian men have quite literally shown the world how the power of urban guerilla warfare can turn the tables on the enemy and reignite the hunger for anti-imperialist justice in the hearts of all the free people of the world. Since October 7th, we have witnessed the immeasurable strength and will of the Palestinian people in the face of collective punishment that their enemy is subjecting them to for daring to break the siege of Gaza, free the prisoners, and liberate their land and people.
The Palestinian Resistance has once and for all shattered the myth of the Zionist entity being an unpenetrable enemy. They have re-affirmed what all colonized people know: that armed struggle is the foremost means of facing the oppressor. Al-Aqsa Flood Battle illustrates the dignity and honour of the Palestinian people in the face of Western coloniality, Arab normalization and reaction, and liberal villifcation of armed struggle.
Glory to the martyrs, long live the Palestinian revolution, free all Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian prisoners, and long live the armed resistance!
